Chad had taken Porter up to the neighbors house to visit and hang out, and to get out of our house, Porter is very active and was running around, when they were getting ready to leave, little P tripped and fell hitting a metal pole, split his little forehead open. Chad did really good, got him cleaned up the best he could and met me in Springville at Insta Care. Porter did awesome too, he only cried for a minute after he fell, and whenever you tried to touch it. The DR at Insta Care said they can go ahead and stitch him up there and he would know everything, basically we would all have to hold him down to get 3 stitches in. I didn't want to traumatize Porter, or myself, so the DR did suggest that we could go to the ER and they would be able to sedate Porter so he wouldn't be wiggling around, and making it harder for the DR to do the stitches. We go to the ER, we got right in and got right down to business. They did a conscious sedation so he was conscious the whole time, but he wouldn't move around. He got 3 stitches, and came out of the sedation pretty well. Did take him awhile to come out because he had missed his nap time, so where he was sedated, when that started to wear off he just started to nap. We did finally get him up and he slept the whole way home, and took a good 2 hour nap at home. He woke up kinda groggy, and stumbled around for a few hours because the sedation wasn't completely out of his body. But he is doing good, doesn't play around with the stitches, and gets them out on Sunday. I am afraid though that this is just one of millions of trips that we will be making to the ER with Porter. It was not a fun experience but I am glad he is OK. He is such a tough little guy.
